Helping Our City This Christmas

November 28, 2022 10:30am

Last year as a school community we managed to donate four well stocked hampers full of Christmas goodies and food items for four local causes. We were really impressed and grateful for your generosity and this year we are again creating hampers for worthy causes across our city. We have found four local groups that help vulnerable people and families.

Our school will create four hampers - one from each year group and each year group will be provided with a big box to create their hampers.

We are donating to:

  • Portsmouth City of Sanctuary, a centre offering support for refugees
  • Portsmouth Food Bank
  • The Roberts Centre
  • St Mags Pantry

We would like to include in each hamper, a mixture of non-perishable food items e.g. tinned food, pasta, rice, chocolates, biscuits, crackers, nibbles etc and deodorant, body spray, shampoos and creams (not box sets).  There are no limits to what we can include in the hampers, but we ask that the following three simple rules are followed:

  • No alcohol please.
  • No candles / things involving a naked flame!
  • Unopened items with a lengthy use by date.

Children can bring any items for the hampers and give them to their teachers in their classes. Any hamper donations should be brought into school by Friday 9th December 2022. I hope that you will support these worthy causes and our school with this kind project. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

We also recognise that members of our school community may need to use these groups and have listed below links to each.
