Amber Lee Dodd is our author of the month

Amber Lee Dodd is our author of the month at Meon Junior. She sent our pupils the following message:

"I’m thrilled to be your author of the month. My love of writing and reading actually came about because of my dyslexia. It took me a long time to be able to learn to read and I really struggled at school for a long while, but the one place I excelled was in telling stories. It became the thing I could be proud of, when I was struggling in so many other areas at school. I also believe books are a powerful way of connecting us. To see a story that reflects yourself, or parts of your life, makes us feel less alone. And to be able to read about different characters and their stories, helps us understand and empathise with each other.
